I was fortunate to find these slides the other day, and thought you would be interested. It was probably made c.1880. The St.George plaque probably indicates that he was a cavalier of this order; the coronet shows that he was of the nobility. On the top are small cabochons of ruby and malachite (a favorite Russian stone) and the lock button is a blue sapphire. The fact that there are 3 sets of monograms might mean that it had belonged to 3 generations in which case, it's older than 1880.
Note the bottle of Champagne where, unfortunately the name is partly worn off. The sword is a perfect representation of the issue sword of the period.
